Photography Session: Taylor And Stefanie

22 10 2017

Hey everyone. Welcome to another installment of my blog. I know it’s been a while since my last post. So much has happened and work has been nonstop. But even so, I managed to find some time to do some photography and I present to you another photography session.

4

This past weekend, I took photos of Stefanie and Taylor in Poughkeepsie, NY. This go around, I used my new camera (5d mark iv) and loved how the pictures came out as compared to my canon 60d. The photo above was taken inside the train station. The great thing about the area we shot in was how the windows helped soften the sunlight coming through. We managed to pull off a good number of photos at this spot.

The second location was a nearby park. With the sun coming in and out, almost every shot was different due to the constant changing in natural light. But at the same time, it made some of the pictures stand out well because of it. The only negative about this location was that there were no benches that faced the other way, which would’ve given me the option of the getting the mid hudson bridge in the background.

So I may release more down the road as I have a good number of shots. If anyone is interested in having their pictures taken, you can contact me by email, which is cwashin55@yahoo.com. So until next time, have a great Sunday everyone!

Return from hiatus and a new camera

2 07 2017

Hey everyone! Welcome to another edition of my blog. I know it’s been a long time since my last post. Due to having so many things going on, it’s difficult to blog on a consistent basis. And with work picking up again, it’ll be even tougher.

With the free time I have today, I’m happy to share news that I recently got myself a new camera. It’s the Canon 5d mark iv and I’m already loving it as I’ve taken a few pics with it. Once I get to fully take advantage of all of it’s unique features, it’s gonna be fun filled ride!

Taken during Veteran’s Day Parade

During the Veteran’s Day Parade was when I first started using this camera. I did everything manual and was using a 24-70mm lens. I was amazed at how the images came out with the weather and everyone constantly moving. I took a lot of good photos that day and the one above was one the top photos. The day overall was good. Despite the heavy rain, there was a decent turnout.

And here’s another photo I’ve taken. This was nearly a month ago as I took photos for Taylor and his co-workers at the Captiva Group. Again, I shot everything on full manual and I alternated between different lens. Photos came out great and everyone at that company loved them.

As things get more busy, it’ll be tough to be consistent but I will try to post every weekend if I can. On another note, if you’re reading this and are interested in having your photos taken, feel free to contact me by email: cwashin55@yahoo.com.

2017 Weekly Roundup 1: E Joox Music Video and Chasaity Colon

26 02 2017

Hey what’s up everyone? Welcome back to my blog. Today marks the first of what I hope will be a weekly roundup series. Each week, I will keep everyone up to date about what’s going on around me and the people I know who are trying to make their way in their respective craft. Today will only cover two things but it will be more expansive.

E Joox

Though I have hardly covered him, E Joox has been steadily moving along in the music world. Recently, he has linked up with Hailz Calmlee and Rudy Rush of offdabloc records to make the music video for the single, “Off Da Bloc.” With almost two months into the year, E Joox is already collaborating with other artists and we’ll definitely more material come from him as the year progresses.

Chasaity Colon (Couture Modeling Agency)

And in the modeling world, there are some who are moving up in the world. Chasaity Colon has been featured in my photography posts on a few occasions so everyone should be familiar with her. Lately, she has been featured in ads for Against All Odds and this past week, they unveiled new photos including the one above. So if you walk into any AAO Clothing stores, I guarantee you’ll see her face along the walls. Congratulations Chasaity!

And lastly for today, there’s me. This past week has been slow as I only worked on an overnighter and spent the rest of my time trying to keep myself in shape. But overall, this has been a fairly good week for me and everyone else. So stay tuned for next weekend as things will get more interesting as the year goes along.

First Post of 2017: Long Overdue

The ever beautiful sight of NYC.

Hey what’s up everyone? Welcome to my first blog post of 2017. The time period between my last post and now has consisted of nothing but work with little free time. With the way this year has started off, I expect the trend to continue as I continue on my journey in the film and TV world.

Because of how my schedule is, I will aim to make my blog more of a weekly recap with what’s going on around me and friends that are trying to make their way in the world as well. Along with that, assuming things go as planned, I will try to bring back the photography session series as I’m aiming to get a new camera along with some lighting equipment. So plan on seeing me post on a consistent basis this year.

There’s so much that happened during my hiatus but I can showcase one thing. Earlier last year, I helped my friend, Shawn Strong, with a web series he was shooting. It premiered in December but I’ve recently got a chance to watch the first episode and it’s worth looking at. It’s called “At Risk” and it follows a group of caseworkers as they deal with their clients as well as their own personal issues.

It’s been a fairly busy two months since the last post.

Hey everyone. Welcome to another installment of my blog. It’s been two months since my last post and it’s been a fairly busy two months.

From two weeks ago.

I’ve been almost all over the state of New York as well as parts of Connecticut where I’m either on a commercial set or working a road race. With so much travel, it’s been somewhat hard to do anything else. And with the summer upon us, it’s only going to get even more busy. But I’m up to the challenge of keeping my blog updated and filling you in on what’s going on around me.

L-Squad

Because my post will be short today, I will end it with some new music. The song is called “U Already Know,” and it’s by the group, L-Squad. They’re based out of the Hudson Valley and their single is off of their EP titled, #WTT (Watch The Takeover). So watch and share the video and enjoy the rest of this fine week as I will myself.

Throwback Thursday Photography, Lightning Bugs In a Jar, and a locally produced Commercial

5 05 2016

Hey what’s up everyone? Welcome to another installment of my blog. I hope everyone is having a great week. Today is throwback Thursday and what better way to celebrate than to showcase a little throwback photography.

Model Taylor Jenaro

This was taken last year at the Couture Modeling Studio. Speaking of Couture Modeling, the agency has recently redesigned their website. The link will be posted below if you want to view it.

In the film world, a project I worked is now available for the public to view. Directed by the team of Sara Wolkowitz and Ian Simpson, the film was shot entirely in the hudson valley. Starring Betsy Aidem, Devin McDuffee, and Ethan Slater, Lightning Bugs In A Jar is the story of the fractured relationship between a mother, Farrah (Aidem), and her 22 year-old—but far-from-‘adult’—son, Max (McDuffee). The link will be posted below.

And with Mother’s Day approaching, Delta recently unveiled their commercial celebrating the holiday. What’s more special about this video is that this was entirely shot in Poughkeepsie with some of our local crew.
