2017 Weekly Roundup 1: E Joox Music Video and Chasaity Colon

26 02 2017

Hey what’s up everyone? Welcome back to my blog. Today marks the first of what I hope will be a weekly roundup series. Each week, I will keep everyone up to date about what’s going on around me and the people I know who are trying to make their way in their respective craft. Today will only cover two things but it will be more expansive.

E Joox

Though I have hardly covered him, E Joox has been steadily moving along in the music world. Recently, he has linked up with Hailz Calmlee and Rudy Rush of offdabloc records to make the music video for the single, “Off Da Bloc.” With almost two months into the year, E Joox is already collaborating with other artists and we’ll definitely more material come from him as the year progresses.

Chasaity Colon (Couture Modeling Agency)

And in the modeling world, there are some who are moving up in the world. Chasaity Colon has been featured in my photography posts on a few occasions so everyone should be familiar with her. Lately, she has been featured in ads for Against All Odds and this past week, they unveiled new photos including the one above. So if you walk into any AAO Clothing stores, I guarantee you’ll see her face along the walls. Congratulations Chasaity!

And lastly for today, there’s me. This past week has been slow as I only worked on an overnighter and spent the rest of my time trying to keep myself in shape. But overall, this has been a fairly good week for me and everyone else. So stay tuned for next weekend as things will get more interesting as the year goes along.

Soul Food:New Music by E. Joox and Lucid Dreams

10 09 2014

What’s up everyone? Welcome to another installment of my blog. It’s the midway point of the week and we have new music released by a couple artists that you should be familiar with. As you’ll see, I didn’t write much as I believe the music will speak for itself.

E. Joox

Always staying busy and grinding away, E. Joox has had a great 2014 so far. Earlier in the week, he released the video for his single, “Soul Food.” Off of his recent EP, “Black in America,” it’s 4 minutes of storytelling that hits you inside. Definitely worth a listen.

Another video to check out is by D.O.C. Although released near the end of last month, “Fire Flies” is off the upcoming project, #thecountdown.

And this was released yesterday. Featuring D.O.C. and D3V, the name of the song is U.A.K. (U Already Know) by Ace Supreme.

Photography Session: New York City Marathon + New Video from E. Joox

7 11 2013

What’s up everyone in this fine month of November? We’re getting close to the end of the year and what better way to help you get closer than another installment of my photography session. This past week, we had the nyc marathon take place in our beloved city. As someone who works part time for the New York Road Runners, I had first hand view of over 50,000 people run down 1st avenue as I was stationed at the 17 mile marker.

The calm before the storm.

I only managed to take these pics with my cellphone, which happens to be an old blackberry. I was stationed at the 17 mile marker, which was at the intersection of 77th street and 1st avenue. Once I had the timing equipment set up and ready to go, I had time to take the above pic.

And so it begins.

At this point, the elite runners have passed by and the regular waves of runners are starting to come through. The only thing I hated about my station was that I easily struck by water as runners would toss their cups in my direction after they took a sip.

At this point, the area was nearly jam packed. Runners filed up the whole road with a packed crowd cheering everyone on. I wanted to get a higher angle, but that’s hard to do using an old blackberry phone.

A nice view from the terrace.

This nice shot was taken a couple days before the marathon. Staying at my grandma’s apartment, I wanted to get some shots from the terrace as the sun was coming down. In case you’re wondering, this was shot with my dslr camera. Aperture was at 4.0, ISO at 100, and the shutter speed at 1/250. The only tweak I made when editing was slightly lower the exposure so you can see the clouds in the sky.

And to end this post, I’ll leave you with the latest music video from E. Joox. Off his upcoming EP, “Black In America,” his latest single is called “Stand up.” If you like hip hop that has a positive message, then this is the song for you.

3 year anniversary: New Music from E.Joox and music from Detroit

14 08 2013

Hey what’s up everyone? It’s been almost a month since the last time I posted. At this point, I want to address a very special moment. It’s now the 3 year mark in which I first started working in film and started up my blog page. I went from a Production Assistant who didn’t know much to now a grip/electric who continues to learn and get better with each project. I went from knowing almost nobody to now meeting a ton of new friends and being called on to work on multiple shoots on almost a weekly basis. And my blog page has gone from just promoting my projects to showcasing works that my friends had been involved with in some capacity. So I would like to take this time to thank everyone who I’ve come across for being willing to show me the filming world and how everything goes and those who have been willing to follow my posts for the past three years. It’s been a fun 3 years and I hope the ride doesn’t stop.

Now I got that out of the way, this post will be short and centered around music as I have some new material to showcase. My friend, E. Joox, has released his latest video five days ago for his song, “Switch My Style.” It’s off his upcoming mixtape, “Invisible Ladders,” which will be released later in the year. When you get the chance, it’s worth a watch and a good song to listen to.

The good thing about blogging is that anyone in the world can view it. Last month, I received an email from a promoter in Detroit who asked if I could show his group’s work on my blog. Because of my schedule, I didn’t reply back until yesterday. So I kept my word that I’ll showcase his work and here it is. The above music video is from Detroit based artists, Moonchild and D. Allie, performing “Consequences.” If you like the video, you’ll love their mixtape. (I’ll post the link below)

What’s to Come

So that’s it for now. I’ve been having a busy month as I’ve been day playing on multiple shoots and this trend will continue for possibly the next two weeks. By the time I make my next post, a music video I worked on will premiere plus I hope to mention some projects that my friends have worked between now and then. So until next time, cya!

The First Post of 2013

20 01 2013

Hey everyone. It’s yours truly with what will be the first post of 2013! 2012 has been a productive year for me as I’ve met a numerous amount of new friends and worked at venues that I would’ve never thought of visiting ( I worked outside of New York for the first time last year as I helped out on interviews in New Hampshire). Hopefully, 2013 will yield the same if not better results. So without rambling on any further, here are some updates that have happened up to this point this month.

i promise

The first thing of 2013 that I would like to address is that a few of my friends need  your help. Not too long, they’ve started up a fundraising campaign for their movie, “I Promise.” The film centers around the subject of cancer as a recently married couple is coping with the disease on a day to day basis. Watch the video and if you’re interested, you can go to their official indiegogo page and follow the directions to make a donation.

Also not too long ago, the baseball hall of fame had a little controversy as none of the new candidates were voted in on their first ballot. Being that players such as Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, and Rafael Palmeiro were linked to steroids, most people were not surprised. Before the votes came, I worked on a video where baseball insiders were discussing the significance of the steroid era and how it would affect the hall of fame voting. The video was shot and edited by my friend, Jason Aron, as I helped out with the lighting. If you’re interested in baseball, this video is worth the watch!

And last but not least, Joox released his latest video called, “I Got New Ways.” Check it out and be sure to keep an eye out for his debut album, which will be released this year!

An update on a couple movies and we have a shorty on fire!

17 11 2012

Hey what’s up everyone. The last two months has been surprisingly busy for me as I worked the Woodstock film festival followed by one project after another. While I’m happy to continue getting calls for work, I’m also grateful for the people who have helped me reached this point. So I would like to take this time to thank those individuals (you know who you are) and I look forward to having a very productive run to finish 2012.

“Samuel’s Game” is aiming for a Spring Release

Since we’re at the point where we’re preparing for 2013, I have a little bit of movie and music news to share. For movies, two of the films I worked on are still in post production and will possibly be ready for the new year. “Samuel’s Game” is currently aiming to have the film ready during the spring. And the film, “Happy and Bleeding,” has been renamed to “Love Sick Love.” And as you can tell from the trailer, it’s definitely something that’s worth a watch when it’s released.

E. Joox is scheduled to release his album, “50/50 Project,” in 2013.

And to end this post, I would like to introduce everyone to the latest video from artist and friend, E. Joox. The name of the video is called “Shorty on Fire” and it’s already been shown on thisis50.com. With over a thousand views in just three days, I tip my hat off to him since his hard work is starting to pay off. I’ve been to his place on a few occassions and each time, he’s always calling people, chatting with everyone on facebook, and always seems to have everything planned out. So just like everyone else who is a fan, I wish E. Joox the best and I know he’ll have a successful 2013.

So that’s it for now. Be sure to check out the links below if you want to learn more about what I talked about. So until next time….cya!

My First Music Video: “Night and Day” by E. Joox

14 05 2012

What’s up everyone? I know that we’re halfway through the month of May and I haven’t posted much lately. This month has been a busy one for me as I’ve been working on a few gigs here and there. Recently, I just finished working on a short film shoot that took place in three different locations and I’m also getting prepared to work the Brooklyn Half-Marathon. So as you can see, I’m starting to become a very busy man.

But let’s not focus anymore on me. As the title reads, my first music video has been released and I’m very excited by how it came out. The name of the song is called, “Night and Day” and it stars my friend, E Joox. In this case, I only shot the video as someone else was given the task to edit it. We shot at multiple locations for this video, going from the Walkway over the Hudson to St. Patrick’s Church in Newburgh to Keith Woodson’s house, where E Joox was writing the lyrics. For the walkway scene, we had to work fast to get everything in as the sun was setting. And while shooting in the church, we only had a hour of available time until service started. But given the circumstances, I felt we did a great job getting all the shots we needed and I’m happy with the results.

So feel to watch and let me know what you think of the video!
